About the Program

These professionals work as Nutrition experts, extending their expertise in a number of healthcare settings – especially in maintaining and promoting health in patients suffering from chronic diseases – such as Diabetes, Heart Disease, Arthritis, Auto-immune diseases, Chronic Infections such as Hepatitis B & C, and even obesity to name a few.

These professionals also work with otherwise healthy individuals needing special dietary requirements – such as under-weight babies, pregnant mothers, under-nourished children,  and children with special needs.

Course and Semester Details

The BS Nutrition & Food Sciences is a 4-year under graduate professional degree program approved by the Board of Advanced Studies and endorsed by HEC, equivalent to 16 years of education.

A fair amount of course work is completed by carrying out hands-on training on real patients in the University Clinical Skills Center and at diagnostic centers, laboratories and clinical department of the hospitals and clinics that are part of the University’s network.

Admission Requirements

  • Matric or equivalent - 50% marks
  • F.Sc. (Pre-medical) or equivalent - 50% marks
  • MCAT or UMT Admission Test
