My background is in Nutrition. My PhD degree research evaluated the effects of yeast-derived β-glucan on the control of diabetes using male Wister rats (Pak-USA) while my M.Phil degree research determined the anabolic effects of microbial protein (rats study). I was part of the team for the development of an undergrad degree and diploma “Food Safety & Controls” and Doctor of Nutrition Sciences at Dept. of Food Science & Human Nutrition, UVAS-Lahore. I have gained experience working with Abbott (Nutrition) company. My 2nd overseas expedition was related to rice bran oil processing to functional materials and Nutraceutical (functional foods, China). At the moment (SHS, UMT), I am interested to delineate the cross-talks between metabolic cues and metabolic chronic diseases (obesity, diabetes, etc). I am curious to decipher how metabolic cues set the stage (molecular mechanisms) for obesity, diabetes, and inflammatory environment.
