Program offered:
The Operation Theatre Technology program is an integral unit of the Health Sciences and Human Services department. The program educates the student to assist the surgical team to become a vital member of the multidisciplinary healthcare workforce to ensure the quality of care is provided to every surgical patient.
Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum 45% Marks in Intermediate / A-Level or equivalent (Pre-Medical) and no 3rd division in Matriculation + Minimum 45% marks in admission Test.

Mission:
The mission of the BS Operation Theatre Technology program is to educate and train competent, ethical, and technically proficient professionals capable of supporting surgical teams in a variety of clinical environments. The program is committed to developing graduates with strong foundational knowledge and practical skills in surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, sterilization, and operation theatre management. Through a blend of academic excellence, hands-on experience, and professional values, the program prepares technologists to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care in operation theatres across all surgical specialties.

Assist in a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures in hospitals, surgical clinics, and ambulatory surgery centers under appropriate supervision.
PLO 7: Perioperative and CSSD Operations
Apply technical knowledge and skills in managing the operating room, infection control protocols, and central sterile supply department operations.
PLO 8: SOP Implementation and Supervision
Lead and supervise operation theatre support staff, participating in planning, implementation, and monitoring of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The graduate of Operation Theatre Technologist will be able to
- Demonstrate skills necessary in care, handling, processing, and sterilization of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies.
- Manage Operation Theatres of different surgical specialties like General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, urology and obstetrics Surgery etc.
- The Graduates of this program will be able to work out their knowledge and apply their skills in Operating Room, the perioperative environment, infection control and central sterile supply department.
- The graduate of the Surgical Technology Program will be able to assist and manage
Variety of Surgical and Diagnostic Procedures at Hospitals, Ambulatory Surgery
Centers and surgical clinics.
- Supervise the activity of supporting staff to ensure the teamwork and function as effective team leader by taking part in planning and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures
